Hi all,

I am Sanya, Corporate Relations Manager for the AHA(WA) – in translation, I look after Corporate Members or our Industry Suppliers.

My job is to make sure that suppliers we partner up with are happy, but equally so to provide them with opportunities over and above their membership where they can promote their brands further.

These companies join the Association because they want to make sure that our member venues have a good spectrum of offering, be that in service or products. We carefully select companies that are both reputable and experts in their own fields.

Many of these companies will go one step further and provide special offers for AHA member venues and through those, members save a lot of money and time. Although I understand, and know from personal experience too, that creating new relationships is for many people something that is out of their comfort zone, it is good practice to get to know these suppliers even though nothing might be needed right now. Connecting and creating relationships often leads to better outcomes and advantages for all and supporting companies we have selected is a great way of making sure that the industry thrives for everyone to benefit.

So, next time you attend a Divisional meeting, or an AHA event, make friends with a new supplier – you never know what might just happen!

The Industry Suppliers tab on our home page will lead to the list of all suppliers we are partnered with. They are listed under their specific categories (i.e. furniture (indoor/outdoor), food supplier, beverage supplier, IT/software) – it’s the go to place for anything that may be required.

As always, I am happy to take calls should anyone wish to pick my brains about where you might be able to find anything from salt and pepper shakers, to someone who can fix your leaking roof in the middle of a dinner service!

In my future blogs I will spotlight suppliers; I might even mix it up a little and bring you some drinks/food recipe ideas; I’ll also be touching on the importance of marketing and covering AHA events.
