The palace lights were dimmed and the ballroom came to life at the 2015 AHA Accommodation Industry Awards night.

The guests were dolled up to the nines, with the Mesdames in their beautiful gowns and the Messieurs in their tuxedos. The champagne was flowing and the food simply divine from start to finish, but what, or shall I say who, captivated the audience’s attention was the innovative and comedic performance by Matthew Hale.

Matt had the guests intrigued from the minute he stepped up on stage. He commenced his performance by explaining the nature of how hypnosis works and how each person under his spell had to be open to the idea of being hypnotised with no reservations. With that being said, he had the entire room on their feet trying a few general hypnotic tests to see who had the power.

Upon asking for 20 volunteers, members of the audience were running to the stage to be included in his performance. Matt’s signature routines combined a French twist, including the guests playing their favourite instrument in the orchestra or laying in the warm sun on the French Riviera. It was a great addition to the performance and tied in beautifully with the theme of the night.

The level of control and interaction that Matt had with both the volunteers and audience throughout his 30 minute performance was inspiring to say the least. There is a reason that Matt has featured in news and media worldwide, released his own range of hypnosis products and has won 3 comedy awards for his work on Australian radio. He is simply captivating to watch and a true believer in the power of the mind.
